4 silver medals at the University Championship in Swimming
Eleven students from Ruhr University Bochum (RUB) successfully competed in the University Championship in Swimming in Hanover over the last weekend in May.
A special highlight was the performance of Nikola Schubert, who won silver medals in three breaststroke events. She secured second place in the 50m, 100m, and 200m breaststroke. Max Hegner also contributed a silver medal in the 400m freestyle. Besides the medal winners, Svenja Melenk, Amelie Nickel, Sophia Pirrwitz, Tessa Buse, Frauke Schepers, Kim Ewering, Jana Paul, Jan Ader, Felix Nguyen and Stefanie Sievernich (HS Bochum) also achieved numerous final appearances and good placements. The RUB athletes won several fourth places and achieved a respectable 8th place in the team ranking.
