Favorite Dishes of Top Athletes: “The FISU Games” Promotion Week at the Cafeteria and Rote Bete

Last year, the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games put the spotlight on top student athletes from around the world—including numerous athletes from Ruhr University Bochum. A total of 11 RUB students competed in the international events and delivered outstanding athletic performances across various disciplines.

In the “Excellence in Motion” exhibition, several exhibits offer a look back at the event and provide insights into the daily lives of Simon Reinke and Isabell Thal. Both study at RUB and compete at the highest international level in their respective sports.

Now their favorite dishes—and those of six other athletes—are coming to the table: Under the motto “The FISU Games,” the AKAFÖ invites you to a special promotional week. In the cafeteria and the “Rote Bete,” the favorite meals of eight top student athletes from the RUB are on the menu. Four of them competed in the FISU World University Games; the remaining athletes are just as accomplished in their sports and successfully combine their studies with competitive athletics.
