This summer is full of top-class international competitions. While the RUB students' successes in Paris are still reverberating, Jan-Peter Graf won gold in Portugal.
Unfortunately, things changed again on the day of departure: Tim Dietzler, student of sports science, had to cancel his trip to Montemor-o-Velho at short notice due to illness. He was originally scheduled to race in K2 with the second RUB student Jan-Peter Graf.
However, the 6-strong German delegation mastered this challenge very well. Jan-Peter Graf competed in four disciplines and with his new partner in the K2, Elias Kurth from the University of Potsdam, the big coup was achieved on 22nd of August: the two athletes won the title and took home the gold Medal by just under a second ahead of the duo from Slovakia and the Czech Republic!
RUB and university sports are incredibly happy about this success!
