Honoring successful students in sports 2025
A successful year of competition is coming to an end. This time, the traditional student awards ceremony took place in the city archives, providing a fitting sporting backdrop.
The ceremony honoring students from Ruhr University Bochum who have achieved sporting success took on a special significance in 2025: for the first time, it was not held on campus but in Bochum City Archives, and was embedded in the sporting year of the World University Games and the exhibition “Bochum bewegt” (Bochum on the move). Rector Prof. Dr. Martin Paul emphasized that excellence at RUB means not only academic achievement, but also performance, passion, and community in sports, and praised the close cooperation between the university, the city, and Bochum Marketing.
Twenty-seven students were honored in the sports of judo, lacrosse, athletics, rowing, swimming, and tennis.
