World University Games 2025
Meeting of the Local Organizing Committee for WUG 2025 at Unifit
On Tuesday, January 16, representatives of the WUG 2025 implementation company, the city of Bochum, TV Wattenscheid and University Sports Bochum came together for the 3rd meeting of LOK Bochum for the World University Games 2025.
University Sports Bochum hosted this meeting of the Local Organizing Committee Bochum for the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games. The network meeting was held in the university sports gym Unifit. The meeting focused on defining the key topics for the WUG 2025, such as volunteers, cultural projects, sustainability, sports facilities (in particular the Lohrheide Stadium), as well as accommodation and transportation during the major sporting event.
The Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games will be held in the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region from July 16 to 27, 2025. In addition to Bochum, the cities of Duisburg, Essen, Mülheim an der Ruhr and the North Rhine-Westphalian state capital Düsseldorf are planned as venues.
