The Ruhrpott-PANNA footballers defended their title in a thrilling final.
The final of the Uni League summer season took place last Monday. Over the past few weeks, 16 teams first competed in the preliminary round (2 groups of 8 teams each) and then the individual placings were determined in play-offs. On Monday, it was all or nothing!
Ruhrpott-PANNA, the reigning champions, were able to play their way through to the final unbeaten, even if some of the games were extremely close. Their opponents on the first match day were Viva la quietschies and the game went 5:2 to Ruhrpott-PANNA.
The two teams met again in the final and the game was extremely close right up to the end. The score was 2:2 until shortly before the end and everything smelled of a penalty shoot-out. However, Ruhrpott-PANNA was able to benefit from its strong bench and was able to change players at the end without losing any quality. Not least for this reason, they were able to win the long, hard-fought game 5:2, just like at the beginning of the season.
Congratulations on the championship and we are already looking forward to the exciting games in the cup next Monday, July 8th.
