Team Germany becomes Vice World Champion in Quadball

With the support of five players from Bochum, the German team is vice world champion at the Quadball (formerly Quidditch) World Cup in Richmond (USA).

On July 15 and 16, the World Cup 2023 in Quadball (formerly known as Quidditch) took place in Richmond, Virginia (USA). Five players from Bochum made the trip to the USA as part of Team Germany and faced the international teams. The two coaches Eva Horst and Paul Fander as well as the long-time participants Tom Roloff, Lukas Rohr and Corinna Stephan were part of the team.
The group phase was completed with four victories. And even after the quarterfinals against France and the semifinals against England, Team Germany remained undefeated. The German athletes thus moved into the final against the hosts from the USA, where they had to admit defeat after an exciting match under floodlights.
With the silver medals in their luggage, the athletes from Bochum have now arrived safely back home.
Now there is only a short time left to repack the bags, because on the weekend the Bochum club Ruhr Phoenix will travel to Munich, where the German Quadball Cup 2023 will be held and some of the fresh participants will play their first tournament!
Our fingers are crossed!

By the way, there are still free places in the Quadball course. Who still wants to join spontaneously has the opportunity to do so:
