Christmas break
University Sports is heading into the Christmas break
2025 is drawing to a close and we can look back on a truly unique and exciting year of University Sports.
One of the major highlights will certainly be the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games in July, which brought top-level student sport to life in a variety of ways through its international and intercultural nature. The accompanying Flame Relay on the RUB campus – a symbolic torch run involving many people with a special connection to sport and the RUB – provided an emotional start.
We are delighted that more and more people are finding their way to our sports program, helping the RUB University Sports community to grow, become more diverse, and network beyond language barriers. Whether in our courses, the UniLiga, or the Unifit gym, this year has seen more participants than ever before in our history.
But now University Sports are taking a break for Christmas. From December 22, 2025 up to and including January 1, 2026, Unifit fitness studio will be closed. We look forward to welcoming you there again from January 2, 2026. University Sports courses will not take place from December 19, 2025 to January 6, 2026. Wednesday, January 7, is therefore the first day of courses in 2026.
