Volunteers wanted for the World University Games 2025
Become a volunteer for the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games and be part of the world's biggest multi-sport event in 2025.
From July 16 to 27, 2025, the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games will take place right on our doorstep. Around 10,000 athletes will compete for 12 days in 18 different sports in five cities. The city of Bochum will be represented as the venue for athletics. The FISU World Conference, a major scientific congress, will also take place in the Jahrhunderthalle.
Over 12,000 volunteers will be needed for the entire event - many of them in Bochum. To kick off the volunteer program on 29 February, the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games will be hosted in Bochum at the Unifit of Ruhr-Universität Bochum (Massenbergstraße 9-13, 44787 Bochum). From 2:30 pm to 8:30 pm, employees will be handing out information material and answering questions about the event and the volunteer program.
As a special highlight, RUB-student and top rower Jakob Schneider will also be on site between 4 pm and 6 pm - he won silver in the German eight at the Olympic Games in Tokyo and gold in the four at the World University Games in South Korea in 2015. He will be available for questions and photos. Anyone interested in rowing can also get a few quick tips on a rowing ergometer.
