RUB student Laura Nolte won the gold medal in the two-woman bobsleigh at the Olympic Games in Beijing.
Laura Nolte's competitions at the Olympic Games began a week ago. In the monobob she finished in fourth place. Things went even better in the two-woman bobsleigh. Together with her pusher Deborah Levi, the RUB student achieved the best time three times in four runs in the Yanqing National Sliding Center and thus won the gold medal.
The 23-year-old only started bobsleighing in the 2015/2016 season at BSC Winterberg and already has a number of successes to her name as a pilot. She won various World Cup races and became European champion in 2021. The Olympic victory is nevertheless her greatest success to date.
Laura Nolte is studying business psychology at the RUB. University Sports Bochum supports the winter sports athlete as part of the "Partner University of top-class sport" project in reconciling competitive sport and studies.
