DHM 10 km run: RUB women win bronze in the individual and gold in the team competition!
Following the half marathon of the World University Games, the DHM 10km road race took place at Lake Kemnadersee on 26.07.2025. The 16 RUB runners prevailed against the very good competition in the women's individual classification with Marie Winse in 3rd place and in the women's team classification in 1st place.
On the fast, flat lap around Lake Kemnader - 1.25 km of the finest asphalt - strong times were delivered at the German University Championships over 10 km: The winning times were 35:20 minutes for the women and 31:22 minutes for the men.
RUB runner Marie Winse secured 3rd place in the individual classification with a strong time of 37:50 minutes, running an impressive average of 15.86 km/h.
In the team classification, the RUB women (Marie Winse, Verena Vorspohl, Carla Werner) dominated the race and took first place with a total time of 1 hour and 58 minutes. With a lead of 4 minutes over the second-placed team from the University of Cologne and a whopping 15 minutes over third-placed RWTH Aachen, the team clearly came out on top.
The DHM was organized by TU Dortmund University in cooperation with the implementation company of the FISU World University Games. The professionally organized event impressed with a digital time display, excellent course conditions and a rousing atmosphere created by the large number of spectators.
