The German University Championships in Athletics 2025

At the German University Championships in Athletics 2025 on 29.05.25 in Duisburg, our athletes made a strong impression - including two silver medals and numerous placings among the top eight in Germany.

Joyce Oguama impressed in the women's discus throw with a confident competition. Although she fell short of her potential with 53.76 m, she still finished in silver. Constantin Rutsch also made it onto the podium with a good performance in the men's pole vault, where he also took second place. The first three places in the pole vault all reached the height of 5.10m, with the only difference being the number of failed attempts.

Several athletes just missed out on the podium, but still put in outstanding performances and finished in the top 8:

  • Hendrik Hohmann showed a solid competition in the pole vault with 5.00m and finished fourth.
  • Nicklas Droege also placed fourth in the men's shot put with 13.81m.
  • Lea Laux jumped to 5th place in the women's pole vault with 3.90m.
  • Marie Winse and Verena Vorspohl finished 4th and 5th in the women's 3000 meters - strong results in the long distance.
  • Jonathan Homberg ran to a new season's best in the 5000 meters and also finished in the top eight
  • Linda Beerhorst also sprinted to a new personal best of 57.75 seconds over 400 meters.

Two women's 4x100-meter relay teams also competed, Lea Kruse finished 12th in the 1500 meters and Felicitas Görtz and Melanie Owczarski competed in the triple jump. Samira Attermeyer unfortunately had to pull out of the long jump competition due to injury, but still managed to finish 6th out of 18 with just two jumps.

All in all, the DHM in Duisburg was a great performance by our athletes with a large number of participants.
