(12.06.2025) World University Games
More students than ever before have been nominated for the World University Games. Nine athletes from Bochum will be competing in the German "Team Studi".
When the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games take place in the Ruhr region and Berlin from July 16 to 27, Germany will send 305 athletes into the race for the medals. This makes the German team bigger than ever before. Nine students from Ruhr-Universität Bochum are also taking part. "We too have never had so many athletes from our ranks at the start, which is a huge success for Ruhr-Universität as a partner university for top-class sport," says a delighted Ines Lenze, Head of University Sports Bochum and the German delegation for the "Games".
These nine students will be competing for the Ruhr-Universität:
Ruhr-Universität is traditionally strong in rowing, and this time it is particularly remarkable that the entire German men's coxless four is made up exclusively of RUB students. The boat is a clear medal contender in the race. However, the Bochum athletes also stand a good chance of performing well in swimming, tennis and athletics.
