My way to the RUB

• In a roundabout way: While rowing at the national base in Dortmund, I first completed a Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering at the TU Dortmund University. In order to better combine my interests, values and professional goals, I decided to study civil engineering after all. I quickly found the right university. At RUB, I can study at a university that is renowned for civil engineering and enjoy the kind of support for combining sport and studies that very few universities offer.

When I think about studying and top-class sport

• ...I am grateful to be pursuing my dream - to be an athlete - and at the same time preparing myself for my career after competitive sport by studying the right subjects. This is an absolute privilege for me. The double burden, which brings certain challenges, can be mastered well with good planning and the support of RUB.
