On Tuesday 17 May, RUB Rector Prof. Dr. Martin Paul received top-class athlete Laura Nolte on the occasion of her Olympic victory in the two-women bobsleigh at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing.
Already during the Olympic Games, Prof. Dr. Martin Paul enthusiastically followed the bobsleigh competitions of the Bochum business psychology student and congratulated her via Twitter and subsequently in the form of a congratulatory letter. Now the personal congratulations followed at a meeting in the rector's office. The meeting was accompanied by Daniel Krüger, who is responsible for the support of top-class athletes at the Ruhr University.
In a relaxed conversation, Laura Nolte's experiences during the Olympic Games and the topic of top-class sport at RUB were discussed. Finally, the Olympic champion was allowed to sign RUB's guest book and leave a personal dedication in which she thanked RUB for its support over the past years.
